
In addition to our Copy Centers in the South Puget Sound region, the Department of Printing offers a cost-saving copy service contract to our customers outside Thurston County. The copy service contract provides copying and binding at lower rates than those for standard commercial customers at participating private shops in Washington State.

The Department of Printing regularly solicits bids from private printers to furnish copying and binding services through the copy services contract. Currently four commercial companies and two local governments provide copy services, including:

How it works
In order to take advantage of the Copy Services Contract, Washington State agencies must submit an A21-A Printing Requisition. Political subdivisions such as cities, counties, and school districts must also complete a short interlocal agreement to establish a new customer account.
When you set up a PRT customer account and submit your requisition form, you are entitled to discounted pricing on copying and related services at the vendors listed above.
However, since the contract is valid only outside Thurston County, any services provided by vendors located in Thurston County will be charged at standard retail rates. In addition, the contract applies only to jobs costing $1800 or less. If you expect your order to cost over $1800, please contact your customer service representative for approval before proceeding.
Benefits
Customers who use the Copy Services Contract save an average of 50 percent over standard retail prices at a participating local vendor. For example, several participating vendors usually charge $.08 each for standard black-and-white copies. Customers using the Copy Services Contract receive these copies for an average of $.026 each - a savings of over 65%!
